Amazon's Early Days
Amazon was founded on July 5, 1994, by Jeff Bezos in Bellevue, Washington.
- Initially, the company focused on selling books online.
- In 1995, Amazon expanded its product line to include CDs, videos, and software.
As the company grew, it began to expand beyond the United States, opening its first international location in the United Kingdom in 1998.
Amazon's Rise to Success
Amazon's success can be attributed to its strategic business decisions, including the development of its e-commerce platform and the launch of its Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) service.
- In 2002, Amazon introduced its FBA service, which allowed third-party sellers to store their products in Amazon's warehouses and have them shipped directly to customers.
- In 2006, Amazon launched its cloud computing platform, Amazon Web Services (AWS), which has since become a major player in the cloud computing market.
Today, Amazon is the world's largest online marketplace, with a presence in over 180 countries and a wide range of products and services.
