Understanding Discord's Phone Number Policy
Discord's policy on phone numbers is designed to balance user connectivity with privacy concerns. When you create a Discord account, you're not required to provide a phone number. However, if you choose to add a phone number, Discord uses it primarily for account security and verification purposes.
- Discord does not publicly display your phone number to other users by default.
- If you've linked your phone number for two-factor authentication (2FA), it's stored securely and not visible to others.
Can Others See My Phone Number on Discord?
By default, your phone number is private and not visible to other users. However, there are scenarios where your phone number might be shared:
- If you've directly shared your phone number with someone else outside of Discord, and they then add you as a friend or mention you in a server.
- In server settings, if a server administrator has enabled a feature that allows users to see who has verified their phone number (rare and usually set by specific server rules).
