Understanding Telegram's Download Behavior
When you download a file using Telegram on Windows, the file doesn't just disappear into thin air. By default, Telegram saves all downloads to a specific folder on your computer.
- By default, Telegram downloads are saved to the 'Downloads' folder in your user directory, often located at C:\Users\YourUsername\Downloads\Telegram.
How to Find Your Telegram Downloads
To locate your Telegram downloads, follow these steps:
- Open File Explorer.
- Navigate to This PC > Local Disk (C:) > Users > YourUsername > Downloads.
Changing the Default Download Location
If you want to change where Telegram saves your downloads, you can do so through the app's settings:
- Open Telegram.
- Click on the three horizontal lines in the top left corner to open the menu.
- Select Settings.
- Choose Data and Storage.
- Under Storage, you'll see the 'Save to' option. Click on it and select a new location.
