Early Days of YouTube
YouTube was founded on February 14, 2005, by three former PayPal employees: Chad Hurley, Steve Chen, and Jawed Karim. The idea for the platform was born out of a difficulty in finding and sharing videos online. The first video ever uploaded to YouTube was a 19-second video titled 'Me at the zoo,' uploaded by co-founder Jawed Karim.
- In the early days, YouTube focused on providing a platform for users to share and discover new videos.
- The site quickly gained popularity, and by the summer of 2005, YouTube had already seen over 10,000 video uploads.
YouTube's Rise to Fame

- In October 2006, YouTube was acquired by Google for $1.65 billion in stock.
- The acquisition marked a new era for YouTube, as it became a part of the Google ecosystem.
