YouTube was founded on February 14, 2005, by three former PayPal employees: Chad Hurley, Steve Chen, and Jawed Karim.

Rapid Growth
In the first year, YouTube gained massive popularity, with millions of users uploading and sharing videos.
The platform was later acquired by Google in November 2006 for $1.65 billion.
